Friday night was definitely a crazy night for the NY PR Diva. POSH Magazine (www.caribbeanposh.com), the new Caribbean lifestyle-focused publication had its official launch at Brooklyn’s Red Bamboo. Hosted by Publisher/Editrix-in-Chief Janette Brin, magazine cover boy, Dahved “The Original Rude Boy” Levy and yours truly, the POSH Party was a definitely a successful affair.
The event started around 8 PM with a media and VIP reception and costume showcase presented by D’Midas International. D’Midas International is one of the “mas camps” (or bands) that are on Eastern Parkway on Labor Day at the West Indian American Day parade. The models, Patricia, Agathe, Crystyn, Nicholas and Teresa looked absolutely amazing in the costumes that reflected D’Midas’ theme this year of the Amazon. D’Midas President Glenn Turnbull and Secretary Cheryl Johnson presented the models and costumes. The models makeup was done by artists Blacque Sutherland and Marcia Wright of Eye Candy Make Up Artistry. The press covering this event included: the New York Daily News, Zync TV, MTV Tempo and WBLS.
VIP guests included Brooklyn Senator Velmenette Montgomery, Mary Lafayette of Fashion Luv Joenz, celebrity make-up artist Jewel Whinfield, noted jazz keyboardist Neil Woodward, Perla George of The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission, MTV Tempo and Mark Harper and Oscar Solis of The Live on 5th Group.
At 10, the real party began. Publicist Joanne Joo, model Travis Jackson, the Cambridge brothers, Gerald “G” Russell, Shavonn Doughlin (Centralize Entertainment), jewelry designer Masani Mulraine and many more got their groove on to the Caribbean, hip hop, and r&b hits spun by host Dahved Levy.
I left the party around 3 something in the more and people were still on the dance floor! A good time was definitely had by all!
