A Diva’s Got To Do What A Diva’s Got To Do

Monday night, Kate Gaertner of OMALA, my newest client, and my sis, Teresa, headed over to Katra down on the Lower East Side for the Divas Who Dine Event hosted by CBS Correspondent Tamsen Fadal. It was definitely a divas dinner and networking event with tunes provide by the DJ Chef. It was the female who’s who of fashion and business with attendees including: Pamela Pekerman of BagTrends.com, Dr. Patricia Bell (life councelor), Erica Maurer of EMRG Media, Corinne Becker and Cynthia Vickers of Top Button, Ferrol Lipton of Ogilvy Action, Yvette Brown of Douglas Elliman, Michelle Madhok of Shefinds.com, Shobha Tummala of Shobha, Lauren Parker of Accessories magazine, Kimberly Arbuckle of Vouge and many more. Chris Collins, Katra’s General Manager mixed some of the best lychee martinis on the planet!

Tuesday night stylist Mary Lafayette and I got a last minute invite to the Black Girls Rock fundraiser, “Fashion With Compassion,” at the cute new SOHO shoe boutique Te Casan. The event was hosted by “Fashion and Style Urbanista” Michaela Angela Davis and Steel Petal Media with the night’s soundtrack provided by celeb DJ Beverly Bond. Besides shoe gazing, we did some people watching as well. Mary and I ran into Styleaholics’ Najwa Moses (who intereviewed Mary for an upcoming episode of her podcast), celebrity make up artist Jewel Whinfield, one of New York’s fiercest photographers Karecka Fields, the sexy Melyssa Ford and her publicist Tia Watts of Triple Threat Agency, Tamiko Hargrove, a new shoe designer over at Payless (don’t sleep on Payless folks they are definitely stepping up their game) who recently launched her own line called Helen Julia, TV Host and Stylist Raphael Brown and the diva publicist herself, Trina Morris of Style Root. For those of you who were fans of the very sorely missed Vanguard publication, Honey Magazine, don’t fret, Michaela informed us that Honey’s coming back with a vengeance. So stay tuned!

Wednesday night we hit up the Complex Magazine party at the trend APT with publicist Joanne Joo. Hosted by MTV’s Sway (OK ladies, he is even better looking than he is on TV), Rich Medina was on the 1s and 2s spinning some of the hottest beats. The folks from Applebottoms were out in full effect along with model Abeba Davis, Triple Threat Agency’s Syreta Oglesby, and many more. The hosts from Flesh ‘n’ Blood were in attendance covering the event for an upcoming installment of their show (for the folks in the Miami, NYC, NJ, B’more and DC areas, check it out…you’ll see Mary being interviewed in one of the segments).

Thursday night had us heading over the Major Models party at Runway to celebrate Tuii’s belated birthday party. We ran into Danny (our stylist rep friend) and designer Theo Hackney of Theo Courtnay. We didn’t stay long at the event though the DJ was spinning some old skool joints that brought back memories of junior high.

Divas got to sleep too you know!
