ANNOUNCEMENT: Miss Brooklyn Organization Seeks Board Members

The Miss Brooklyn Organization is currently recruiting qualified professionals for volunteer positions within the Miss Brooklyn Organization Board. Can be within or outside of the pageant industry, only requirement is a strong committment to community involvement.

VICE PRESIDENT: Works directly in conjunction with Executive Director. Responsibilities include Pageant & fundraising Event Production, state competition prep & oversight of board members & volunteers. preferably someone with either pageant direction experience or ambition.Must have STRONG leadership skills and the ability to work independently. Requires a 5 hour per week committment.

SECRETARY/NY ORG LIASON: Keeps track of necessary paperwork/deadlines for NY Org & Miss Bk/OT. Records minutes, saves correspondence/PR releases/etc in BK Org files.

TREASURER: Manages Scholarship & Operating accounts for Miss Brooklyn Org. Oversees fundraisers, ticket sales, program book ads, etc. Reports to ED only.

MEDIA TRAINER/APPEARANCE COORDINATOR: Trains Miss/Teen for media interviews. Effectively communicates MBO FAQ’s, mission statement, boilerplate, 30-second ‘commercial’ to title holders & delegates. Liase with appearance contacts. Provides year-end contact list for thank you’s and acknowledgements.

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT: Reports to ED, manages BOH to ensure a timely production. Coordinates talent requirements for theater staff, emcee sheets, scripts, schedules, etc. Collects CMN volunteer sheets day of pageant.

CONTESTANT COORDINATOR: Assists potential delegates in fulfilling paperwork requirements in a timely manner. Sends newsletter reminding delegates of deadlines, training sessions, meet & greets & fundraising opportunities. Liases with ED to answer questions regarding competition requirements ONLY. Does NOT coach, train, or provide competition advice.

MISS NEW YORK PREP TEAM: Fitness, Interview, Talent & wardrobe Prep team.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER: By project basis only. Examples include Miss Bk newsletters, program book & ads.
