Carmen Mendoza, Miss Kings County 2011, for LOFT


The Miss Brooklyn Scholarship Organization ( has more than just titleholders in their ranks, but a budding model as well. Amaris Acosta, the Executive Director of the local preliminary for the Miss America pageant, announced today that Carmen Mendoza, Miss Kings County 2011, is featured in the LOFT ( campaign entitled, “Wear the Pants (We Do!)” which launched February 15th.

“I’m really excited to be featured in LOFT’s Wear the Pants campaign not only because I love the leg lengthening trouser but because I love the way it fits,” says Carmen. “LOFT takes into account that not all women have the same body type and their Petites collection makes me feel and look good.”

The “Wear the Pants (We Do!)” campaign features LOFT associates modeling the new leg-lengthening trouser demonstrating how they flatter bodies of all shapes and sizes. Mendoza, a Park Slope resident, is on the marketing team with the revered retail brand and represents the growing petites client base.

The campaign launched in-store and online on February 15th and will include a huge social media component utilizing Facebook. Wear the Pants will include a brief bio of each model, introducing the real women behind the pants to each visitor to their online and retail locations as well as showing guests how to find their perfect leg-lengthening trouser.

“It is no surprise that Carmen fits in with the LOFT,” says the Acosta. “She is a wonderful embodiment of the modern working woman, balancing her professional and personal pursuits. She is a great representative for Brooklyn, and a great representative for LOFT.”
