New York City – New York-based radio personality, Jasmine Sanders (www.jasminesanders.com), announced today that she will be hosting the first annual Well Done! NYC Awards (www.welldonenyc.com) on September 7th. The Well Done Awards is a benefit event designed to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations in the New York City community. This year’s event will take place in lower Manhattan at Libations, located at 137 Ludlow Street.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this wonderful event honoring people who are making a difference in our community,” said Sanders, an on-air personality at Fresh 102.7. “It behooves us to make more of an effort to shine a light on people who give of themselves in order to help others. Events like this could be the catalyst we need to push others to give back and though I don’t believe one should do it for the recognition; I do believe we sometimes need a little inspiration.”
Created by Tawana Sharee Butler, founder of La Frai DS (www.lafraids.com), a well known event and fundraising firm in New York, The Well Done NYC Awards was created as a platform to recognize individuals, organizations and companies who have worked tirelessly to give back to their communities The honorees are successful New Yorkers hailing from various backgrounds including elected officials, community activists, students, athletes and celebrities. Senator Chuck E. Schumer’s office will present awards to the honorees for their exemplary community service.
“I have a passion for fundraising and events,” Tawana Sharee Butler explained. “There is a power in nurturing dreams into existence. I feel as a human being it’s my duty to serve my community and communities around the world. Those are the very principles that La FRAI DS, Architects of Fundraising and Grand Events had been created upon. It is my pleasure to help these organizations and individuals who pride themselves on community service to obtain funding to further their cause. We will uplift and grab one hand at a time until we have formed a perfect circle around the world. It’s our pleasure to have Jasmine Sanders, who shares a similar philosophy, hosting our inaugural event.”
The La Frai DS team did extensive research to find four organizations whose work exemplified the mission of the Awards– to acknowledge members within the five boroughs of New York City who are striving to make a difference in their community. The community plants and cultivates the seeds, who are our children, into the entrepreneurs and future leaders. Those being honored this year include New York Cares, Uptown Girls, the Mama Foundation for the Arts and Reverend Al Sharpton. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to each organization to help further their community work. Tickets to the inaugural event are available at: www.welldonenyc.eventbrite.com.

ABOUT WELL DONE NYC
WELL DONE! NYC was created by Tawana Sharee Butler, the founder of La Frai DS (www.lafraids.com), a well known New York-based fundraising and evening planning firm. Inspired by the various community groups and philanthropists she met over the years while fundraising on behalf of the New York City public school system, Butler felt it was time that they were appreciated for their tireless and “thankless” efforts to help those around them. An overwhelming desire to give back and show appreciation to these “unsung heroes” of New York City gave birth to Well Done! NYC, and organization dedicated to encouraging and fostering volunteerism. Well Done! NYC hosts the annual awards benefit of the same name. For more information about Well Done! NYC, visit: www.welldonenyc.com.
