South Florida Event Series Kicks Off with Fashion ‘Day Party’ in Miami

 

Miami, FL—STYLE CHAMBERS, South Florida’s newest event series geared towards the fashion, art and culture inclined, announced the date of their official kickoff event today. Hosted by Styles Lewis, a New York-based image consultant and co-Founder of Style Chambers, the intimate launch event will take place on August 13th in Miami’s Downtown Historic District.

The inaugural event, Style Chambers: Miami Edition, will be a fashion centric “day party” offering guests a chance to network with industry professionals, enthusiasts and influencers from the area and beyond. Attendees will also get an insider’s view into upcoming trends in the industry with a featured panel of experts moderated by event series Co-Founder, Tresa Chambers including:

  • Rory Lee, internationally recognized make-up artist and beauty business maven
  • Tamara Walker, New York-based Fashion & Beauty Publicist & Blogger
  • Styles Lewis, New York-based Image Consultant & Co-Founder of Style Chambers

Also as part of the event’s agenda, Microsoft will be hosting a workshop for entrepreneurs entitled, Build an App in an Hour beginning at 3p. Prior to the debut event, Style Chambers has partnered with AM 880, The Biz (Bloomberg Radio) to launch a new radio program, Fashion Friday: The Business of Style. The show has featured creative entrepreneurs, including Greg Shugar, founder of The Tie Bar and co-founder of The Thread Experiment; Mikhaile Solomon, Director of Miami’s Prizm Art Fair; Producer of the Miami 48 Hour Film Project, Cathleen Dean, up-and-coming fashion designer, Yasser Faraco, and other business owners, who share their experiences starting and growing their business, finding their markets and ways they contribute to the style and culture of Miami, the country and the world.

In June, E2 Northeast Motorsports (the first multicultural competitive racing team in NASCAR) made an appearance at the BODY SCULPT of New York Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo held at Brooklyn’s Boys & Girls High School.

Independent Woman Owned Film Company Set to Screen First Documentary, DIE, CRAZY, FAT

NEW YORK, NY—OCTOBER 2, 2014— America is a country obsessed with trends and fads in everything from fashion to beauty to healthy…even religion. According to industry experts, the health and wellness industry is gearing to be a trillion dollar business by 2017 with most of those dollars as a result of female purchasing power. Buona Donna Productions, an independent film company, takes a look at the journey of eight women on their quest to “healthy,” in the riveting new documentary DIE, CRAZY, FAT. Buona Donna will host a private screening on Thursday, October 30th at MIST Harlem in New York City.

“With America’s obsession with diet, exercise and its ever-growing misconceptions, I felt it was vitally important– especially for women– to understand the basics of good health,” said Buona Donna co-Founder, Tonya Conrad. “Faced with my own personal struggles, I wanted to expose the conflicting opinions in the medical and health industries and share insightful anecdotes that would allow others to determine for themselves the true meaning of healthy living; ultimately feeling inspired to take control of their own health.”

Co-founded by Tonya Conrad and Nichole “Nikki” Nichols, Buona Donna Productions is focused on creating films,  programming and other media forums to enhance and enrich the lives of others through the exploration of complex issues that have an impact on their lives including race, class, gender, spirituality, sex and more. NEW YORK CITY– Hearts of Gold (http://www.heartsofgold.org), a not-for-profit organization that fosters sustainable change in lifestyle and levels of self-sufficiency for homeless mothers and their children, invites the community to participate in the organization’s fourth annual “Walk for Kids” Fundraiser.
 
“This year, Hearts of Gold celebrates 20 years of bringing joy and confidence to homeless families. Register to walk with us, or donate to help improve the lives of New York City’s homeless mothers and children, by visiting www.heartsofgold.org,” said Deborah Koenigsberger, Founder & Executive Director of Hearts of Gold.
The one mile Walk will be held in New York’s Riverside Park on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. Enter the Walk by visiting www.heartsofgold.org and clicking on the 2014 Walk logo, or enter on the morning of the Walk between 8:00 and 8:45 a.m. ($10 youth; $25 adult). Check-in for pre-registered participants begins at 8:00 a.m. Entrance to the Park is at 83rd Street and Riverside Drive. Fundraisers along with moms and kids from the shelters the organization supports will walk along a one-mile path through the park. At the finish line, participants will celebrate with games, prizes and refreshments. Proceeds fund Hearts of Gold’s children’s programs at the organization’s adopted shelters, which include providing school supplies and clothing, after-school activities, tutoring, meals, summer camp scholarships and day trips to cultural attractions.
Celebrity participants in the Walk include Rhonda Ross, an Emmy Award nominated actress and singer/entertainer, who will be performing the National Anthem; and Amy Carlson, star of the CBS hit show Blue Bloods, who will assist in starting the race.
Founded in 1994, Hearts of Gold has raised more than $7 million to help homeless New York City families exit the city’s shelters and thrive on their own.
